My Prelim Print

 This is my front cover, the title of my magazine is 'Silent College'  and the cover is using the colour scheme to keep a house style throughout the magazine. The colour scheme for my magazine is Purple, Gold and Blue. I have plenty of sell lines around the page which promote different things such as the weeks Bulletin. My main sell line is Freshers fair which is in bold and stands out across the bottom of the page. I have advertised new things in the magazine that i think will be of interest to people. I have a medium close up image,, which will be the main focus of my magazine.I chose the name silent college as i thought it would be on the topic of colleges and would attract people attention straight away as it will include them. I chose my colour scheme as it is the colours of the college i am doing about and they all go well together. My main topic is Freshers fair as i know from asking people that, that is what interests them at this point in time.

My contents page is in order and has appropriate titles and a short and brief description of what the topic in that page is about. The images will show you a few of the top stories and interest in the magazine and i have kept my house style with the colour scheme and using my magazine title at the top of the page again.

Photography Composition

On this magazine there is a medium close up shot of someone. The title is big but in the background so you will always know what magazine it is and all of these magazines will be the same. There are sell lines around the page which all catch your eye in a different way.The main sell is found at the bottom of the page and you an see the main artists they will be talking about in the magazineThe Skyline is the title of the magazine and stands out to anyone who is looking, there is a medium close up of an artist which is to try and make you interested in the magazine and so you can see the image from far away. There are sell lines around the front of the page and around the picture but none of them are covering the medium close up image so you lose the impact. The main sell line is to make you interested in the artist and attract you from the very beginning.

This contents i know is keeping the same house style as the front cover and the rest of the magazine. It tells you the cover story on the front cover and leads you straight there as that may be one of the tings you want to look at straight away. It states that it is a contents page and is in keeping with the rest of the  page. They have used banners to split the topics, and you can see that it has a lot of pages for you to view. It also has an introduction it what it is about on each page.

This contents page is in keeping with the house style of the magazine, and has banners to split up each topic. It has images to show you what the topic will be about and to make it easier for you to choose which one you want read.

Brief-Print

Print Prelim.
Using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate your grasp of DTP.
Main Task.
The front page, contents page, double paged spread of new music magazine. A minimum of 4 images must be used. All images and graphics must be produced by the candidate.
